Value Statement: “We believe all people should be respected and involved in creating their own services and directing their own lives. We participate in these values by being leaders in developing and providing innovative, customer directed quality services.” |
DaySpring was formed in Oklahoma in 1997 and expanded into Arkansas in 2002. DaySpring
Services of Arkansas is directed by Wes Robbins, Chief Executive Officer of Arkansas Behavioral
Health Services, who has many years of mental health experience working in leadership positions
with profit and nonprofit mental health organizations. He guides and directs DaySpring
Behavioral Health Services with a highly qualified management team that provides support and
direction to the licensed and certified service staff who are committed to the provision of quality
services to the persons served.
October 1, 2007 DaySpring Behavioral Health Services of Arkansas merged with Alternative
Opportunities Inc., a nonprofit organization based out of Springfield, MO. The merger allowed
DaySpring to become the behavioral health services division of Alternative Opportunities in
Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. The merger also enabled a transition from a private provider
to a nonprofit organization, which brought forward the opportunity to offer additional services to
eligible members of the communities we serve. Alternative Opportunities has been an
established provider since 1991, specializing in the following programs and services:
- Workforce Partnerships (employment specialists, career managers, business liaisons and
job specialists)
- Employment Services (employment specialists, job developers, employment consultants
and vocational evaluators)
- Carol Jones Recover Center for Women (substance abuse for women and mothers)
- Youth and Family Services (youth support specialists and transition specialist)
- Community Services and Brooke Care (in-home specialists, community integration and
skills trainers) and
- DaySpring Behavioral Health Services of Oklahoma and Arkansas.

SERVICE PHILOSOPHY
From its beginning, DaySpring BHS has been
a home-based/community-based agency focused
on providing services in community settings.
Individuals are often not required to come into
the clinics or offices to receive various services
as licensed and certified staff go where the
individuals live and interact. The philosophy
is that bringing a service provider into the
environment where people live and experience
their daily successes and struggles makes working
together more efficient and productive. This
approach provides a much closer interaction
and partnership between the client and the mental
health provider by helping establish a stronger
working relationship.
DaySpring services have expanded into many
service areas across the state. Programs serve
individuals in their homes, schools (public,
alternative, and head start,) residential facilities,
nursing homes, and clinic settings. Satisfaction
surveys indicate the DaySpring staff working
in these various settings is providing a necessary
and valuable service.

COST OF SERVICES
Payment for services is usually covered by
Medicare and Arkansas Medicaid insurance with
eligibility verified before services begin.
Private insurance may also pay for some services.
While DaySpring does not directly bill private
insurance for services provided, a statement
of services will be given to the client for
submission to their insurance carrier for fee
reimbursement. A sliding scale fee is also available
for those without insurance coverage. The staff
will discuss the fee scale and any other service
payment questions with you.
